DRS IN THE MAKING - WHITE COAT CEREMONY

Close friends with the family/All nighter study buddies

A Fun Day at Secret Beach

We got to go to the beach with Dad today! Kenyn had his first test today so he had half of the day off from studying! Yay! We loved getting to spend time with him at the beach. We went to this awesome beach that you can only get to by boat. The water was so clear and gorgeous!

Towards the end of our trip here to secret beach a whole bunch of 1st Semester students
came to enjoy there half day off as well... we left shortly after all the people showed up.

Whale Watching

Whale Watching in Dominica May 2014

The Boat

Lots of little kids enjoying the boat ride!

 My boys

We saw 3 Whales about 20 ft from the boat! It was Awesome! We saw the same 3 whales 2 times while we were out. Our whale watching tour was about 4 hours and only cost us 25 EC per adult, which is like $10 USD per adult
It was an awesome Saturday Adventure, organized by the school.

May 12, 2014

Today was Kenyn's First day of School! You got this, DR. KOOP! The 12 HOUR A DAY studying has BEGUN!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

We just got home from a full 2-hour day at church..... Back in the states church is 3 hours long with sacrament mtg, gospel doctrine, and then relief society and priesthood. But here church is only 2 hours long with sacrament and then gospel doctrine and relief society/priesthood alternating weeks. As you can see in the pictures we have a small branch out here (half locals and half students/families) that meets in that Lime green 3-story building(all buildings out here are very bright and florescent in color, its pretty cool). Primary meets on the first floor, sacrament/gospel doctrine/relief society/priesthood on the second floor, and the owner of the building lives on the third floor.

Every Sunday morning we wait in front of the grocery store for our man Serge to arrive in his taxi/van that takes us all to the church (we pay him $5 EC per person round trip). Serge is not a member but he has a fishing boat and him and Kenyn will be doing lots of fishing together here on the island in between semesters it sounds like.  Serge has been driving the members to church for many years now.

Lawson and Jackson playing together before church.

cute boy!

The only real grocery store in town, IGA. It has cute little grocery carts just his size. And we had our first rainstorm, so of course we got out the rain boots and rain jacket. He was loving it.

Dominica the beautiful

This is the beach that is just behind the Ross University School of Medicine Campus, a 5 minute walk from our front door.

We've been to this beach 2 times since we have been here.  It is a nice way to cool off from the HOT, HUMID Weather.

Purple Turtle Beach

Our second day here we went with some of our new island friends to purple turtle beach. We made sandcastles, ran away from the waves, held a star fish, ate hot dogs, and enjoyed each others company!

We Arrived!!

We are finally here, after all the preparations...12 suitcases, 2 days of traveling, SLC, TX, Puerto Rico and finally Dominica! We all made it here safely, and we survived all the madness of traveling out of the country with 2 kids in tow.

Welcome to our new house!

Down the street to the right

Down the street to the left (this is the way we go everyday) school is just down this road to the right and all the way down the next street and you run into campus.
